Aron Landahl
(Born in Sweden 1984. Lives and works in Uppsala, Sweden)

Aron Landahl was raised on the island of Gotland in the Baltic sea. As an illustrator, Aron Landahl's images have been seen in various magazines throughout Sweden. Its setting often involves elements from the nature and the quieter dwelling with some distances away from the peak of action. The mood is somewhat eerie. Hatching with steel pen and ink creates misty details for the viewers to observe. Landahl plans his debut to publish a book in Sweden as the illustrator and author of Dropp Dropp, a horror story for three-year olds.

When he was a child, he found a book at the local communal library called 100 views of Mt. Fuji with magnificent images within. Now, some decades later, he travels to Japan to further study the world of Hokusai and his works of art. With this, the artistic examination is to develop the project 100 views of Karlsö, a local application of Hokusai's great works. The centre of these views will instead be the islands of Karlsö, situated in the Gotlandic area where Landahl was raised. These islands are regionally famous for their unique cakelike shapes attracting birds and plants of rare kinds.

Ylva Carlgren
(b.1984 in Luleå. Lives and works in Stockholm)

Ylva Carlgren works with non-figurative watercolor painting. The work is experimental and systematic. Through a meticulous and controlled layering technique, fields of color are gradually charged with light, manipulating the perceptual field. The work is an exploration of the limitations of her medium. It is a process of perfection where the artist's practice becomes and end in and of itself. Relinquishing any and all mimetic pretension, Carlgren creates a reduced visual language characterized by presence and stillness.

Carlgren holds an MFA from Valand School of Fine Arts in Gothenburg, Sweden. She is the recipient of grants from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm and Helge Ax:son Johnson Foundation.
She has exhibited in solo and group shows such as "300 Layers" (solo exhibition at Gallery Steinsland Berliner, Stockholm, Sweden, 2018), "The Shadows' call" (solo exhibition at Gallery Steinsland Berliner, Stockholm, Sweden, 2016), and "In Light of Absence". (duo exhibition at Market art fair, Stockholm, Sweden, 2017)

Hans Andersson
(b.1979 in Kalmar, lives and works in Stockholm)

　Hans Andersson works with abstract images and sculptural objects from found materials. His work is a continuous questioning of the materials, their heritage and their internal and external qualities and tension. His process is intuitive and nonlinear. The philosopher Simone Weil states that a subject acts through its non-actions. The subject acts, but it is no longer the will that is the foundation for its actions, it is, on the contrary, a sort of obedience. Art, and philosophy as a concept, should according to Weil be received in awaiting and treated with contemplation. Hans Andersson spend a great deal of time with his work. The procedure is both gentle and spontaneous.

　Neither his exhibitions nor artworks are given titles. This is a clue on how to perceive his practice. It shows a movement towards a non-language as an emancipation from identification with the self-narrative. To be able to see the familiar in the unfamiliar or to discover something new in what is already known.

　Andersson graduated from Konstfack - University College of Arts, Craft and Design in 2005. He has received several awards and grants such as Helge Ax: son Johnson Foundation and the Arts Grants Committee working grant. He has exhibited extensively in solo and group show such as "Swedish Art Now" (Sven Harrys Konstmuseum, Stockholm, Sweden, 2016), "Untitled" (Solo exhibition, Gallery Forsblom Helsinki, Finland, 2017) and Noco "If you don't like art.." (Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium, Norway, 2017). His works are represented in several collections such as the Malmö Art Museum, Malmö and the Nordic Contemporary Art Colloection.

Jenny Yurshansky
(Born in Rome, Italy. Lives and works in California, USA and Stockholm, Sweden)

　Jenny Yurshansky's practice uses a conceptual and research-based approach to define the material and critical parameters of each project; she explores the empiric and its tension with the poetic. Using these guidelines she digs deeply into the holes that exist in the systems we have created to categorize the world such as time, memory, history and language. These boxes are unpacked and run through the parallel filters of scientific inquiry and personal experience, often by making use of absence so that room is made, to determine that which is known, by first establishing what is not known. At the core she investigates paradoxical mechanisms, functions, and assertions, often by creating a dialectical construct that is expressed in the relationship between materials and subject. Yurshansky takes care to widen the gaps of visual description so that the viewer has room to project their own meaning onto each piece, in order to ensure that the works do not enforce their own tautology. The work provides a wider space for meaning to be dismantled and re‐imagined continually. The use of subtlety in the work's presentation, forces a slower experience of viewing, thereby creating time for dialogue with the larger issues that each piece deals with.

　Born in Rome via Moldova, Jenny Yurshansky received her MFA in Visual Art from UC Irvine and participated in the post‐graduate Critical Studies course at the Malmö Art Academy. This spring she was invited by Yiddishkayt as a guest artist in Moldova, where she began research on her family history. Yurshansky's forthcoming artist book will be published by Pitzer College Art Galleries in conjunction with her 2015 solo exhibition and residency, Blacklisted: A Planted Allegory. Her work will be seen this fall at the Los Angeles Arboretum as part of the show Digital Nature and this spring was seen at the Los Angeles gallery Visitor Welcome Center. A co-founder of the art space, Persbo Studio in Sweden, Yurshansky is the recipient of numerous grants and awards from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Asylum Arts, the Swedish Arts Grant Committee and the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, where she was a Guest Artist Researcher and had a solo exhibition in 2015. She was the first international artist awarded the Maria Bonnier Stipend from Bonniers Konsthall. Yurshansky's work has been exhibited internationally in group shows at the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, MAK Center, LAXART, the 7th Istanbul Biennial, the Hammer Museum, Rooseum Center for Contemporary Art in Malmö, and the Toyota Museum in Japan.

FÄRG & BLANCHE

Stockholm based design studio FÄRG & BLANCHE was founded in 2010 by the Swedish designer Fredrik Färg and designer Emma Marga Blanche, born in France. As a studio, they work across a wide variety of fields, collaborating with established Scandinavian furniture brands such as Gärsnäs, Zero and Design House Stockholm, as well as producing their own collections and limited art pieces for galleries in Milan, New York and London. Known for their experimental stance, where each expression informs the other, they effortlessly move between the exclusive hand made one off and the industrially produced, without ever losing their distinctive touch.

The creative heart of Fredrik Färg and Emma Marga Blanche can be found in their large studio in Södermalm, Stockholm. Housed in an underground garage, it functions as much as a showroom for their work as a place for hands on experimentation, with a well-equipped workshop at the back. This sense of experimentation, in particular in textiles, can be felt throughout Emma and Fredriks work, which often has a tailored, yet playful touch. The stools in their series Succession, for example, are dressed in leather and textile that has been tied with ropes and then baked, in order to create new shapes. In the collection, Wood Tailoring, they have experimented with "extreme sewing", combining wood and sewing, in a way never seen before.

Fredrik has a background as a cabinetmaker, but has always nurtured a strong interest in fashion. Emma grew up surrounded by art - her mother is an artist and art teacher. These influences can be felt in all of Emma and Fredriks work, including the various collaborations they undertake.

Emma and Fredrik have curated a number of much talked about exhibitions, such the exhibition "Inside Scandinavian design for Stockholm Furniture fair 2015", "20 Designers at Biologiska", "Beyond Couture" and the choreographed show "Design Walk". Their RE-cover chairs are represented in the collection at the National Museum in Stockholm.

FÄRG & BLANCHE received in 2013 the award "Furniture of the year" by the design magazine Sköna Hem for their chair Emma that is produced by Gärsnäs, and "Form +1 Award 2014" for Wood Layer part of Wood Tailoring series.

Jenny Åkerlund (Born in 1984, Stockholm, Sweden)

Åkerlund's practice takes its starting point in the periphery of visual perception. Areas, objects or events which through a change of focus can become available to our senses, shifting from invisible to visible. Her techniques span over video, drawing and installation. Matteo Rosa (Born in 1978, Italy)

Born in Italy in 1978. Currently lives and works in Malmö (Sweden).

At the core of Rosa's work is an interest in the subject of awareness. This brings him to a fascination for the interconnectedness of things, the play between form and formlessness, transience and stillness, imagination and presence. His practice explores art's potential to address forgotten or neglected aspects of the self, such as the primal feeling of being in one's own body at a time when we are exposed to the highest amount of external information in history. He employs various media, from drawing and painting to photography, video and installation.

Matteo Rosa trained at Edinburgh College of Art and Malmö Art Academy. Simon Gärdenfors (Born in Sweden, 1978, lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden )

Born in 1978 in Malmö, Sweden. Lives in Stockholm, Sweden. He works as a comic book artist, but also as a rapper and a radio host. His comics are drawn in a round icon-like cartoony style, although their content is often realistic or autobiographical. He has published 4 graphic novels, as well as several short pieces for the Swedish comic anthologys Galago and Rocky Magasin. His book Simons 120 dagar published in English as The 120 Days of Simon in 2010. In 2008, Gärdenfors hosted a six-episode series on ZTV titled The Simon Gärdenfors skräpkultur-show (The Simon Gärdenfors Junk Culture Show), with each episode focusing on a different category of "junk culture" such as candy wrappers, comics, and pinball. http://gardenfors.blogspot.jp/
